So I have oil leak that I can't figure out exactly where it's coming from. It doesn't look like it's coming from the valve cover but i didn't notice it until after i put on my rockers. Maybe someone can help narrow it down. I'm wondering if its a head gasket because I don't know where else it would be coming from. It i can see the oil on the block down by the crossover on front of the engine. It's an 07 L26 with a turbo. Sorry for the bad pictures.

I read that post and it doesn't seem to help. I know it's not the oil pan. I know for sure its not the oil level sensor. Because of where the I can see the oil building up I highly doubt it's the valve cover. I have cleaned it and watched but it is a very slow leak. I just don't know where else it would come from but the head gasket because if where the oil is at.

If you hop under and look up, here's how you diagnose oil leaks.

If the oil isn't much above the pan on teh block, it's the pan or rear engine cover. If it's higher, it's the VC's 3800's are easy.

It's even easier when you say you tossed rockers in and then it started. Which leads me to think you didn't do gaskets/grommets when you did the rockers.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I did replace the gasket and grommets when I did the rockers. I was think it was the LIM but wasn't sure. Due to the location I figured it had to be the LIM or a head gasket. Thanks

i made my v/c bolts to tight and they leaked from day one, worse then before i changed them. (new gaskets and grommets)

so i took the one that was leaking back off, cleaned it all up nice, then put the gasket back in the cover, and smeared the thinnest smear of rtv on the gasket only, then put it back, and only snugged the bolts down good., no more leak for me.

It's tough to overtighten them with that stopping sleeve on them.

I'd think it was LIM before HG. Give it a cleaning and you'll know for sure.

any way it could be coming from the oil supply line for the turbo? i dont see the line in the pics but maybe under boost it squirts...just throwing it out.

I checked that because I have had that problem before and it's good. I think it's got to be the lim. I'm going to remove some stuff this weekend to see if I can narrow it down more

Or you could clean it down and watch for where it begins seeping from.
