I just did my LIM gaskets two weeks ago, I put my metal gaskets on dry after a good clean on the surface of the heads with a little dot of RTV on the four corners of the LIM, used thread sealer ( W/PTFE) on the intake bolts. Cleaned the holes of debris and coolant on the LIM and alt bracket, made sure to give the elbow a WIGGLE to make sure it was seated, lubed all my fuel injector O-rings with a rub of dielectric grease, WIGGLED the injectors to make sure they were seated and knock on wood as 4 days later I made a 330 mile drive @70 MPH with no problems. Everything is still dry. I am though hunting down a vacuum leak in my hoses. I sprayed carb cleaner around my LIM gaskets to check them, but no leaks. The DAMN carb cleaner f**ked up some of the paint on the snout of my SC, better to be safe then sorry. Just take your time do a lot of cleaning and your LIM will turn out fine.
