car won't start

2000 grand prix, 3.8 NA

car died while my mother was driving it. low on gas (we thought) since the gauge read empty. put gas in car, would not roll over, just clicked. battery had a bad cell, replaced battery. still nothing. replaced starter unit. still won[t roll over, and 20 gal of gas in car and still reads empty. very little money, need car very soon for school.

help!!!

okay, how do i check the security system, the card or the reader??? can i just get a new one from the dealer if i give him my vin number???

Even if it was a security issue it should still turn over. It could have hydrolocked. Pull the spark plugs and turn it over and see if coolant comes out.

Is it at least cranking, but just wont start since you replace the battery and starter? Take a look and your oil dipstick and make sure it doesn't look like coffee. If is does you have a blow head gaskit. If its turning over and wont start you could also try disconnecting the mass air flow sensor.

Try turning the motor by hand wtih a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt and or take out all the plugs. If you get water, look up the L36 LIM failure thread and that'll help you get it fixed up.

It will turn over if you jump across the solenoid terminals, but still will not start.not an oil or water problem.
