I was wondering if the Cost to build a Custom Air Induction (Cone Air Filter) or a K&N Air Filter Upgrade (Stock Air Replacement) be best? Both would be around the same Cost as I have most of the Parts, but wondering what the differences in performance would be?

go with the cone air filter. much less air restriction than just replacing the stock filter with a K&N one. it gives the engine a nice rumble sound when you accelerate too. itll also give you a few extra hp which will make for smoother acceleration and itll help with gas mileage too.

yeah intakes help with hp a little. probly like 1whp just smoother acceleration is what you notice. and you might get a couple extra mpg if you dont have a lead foot

If you aren't planning on modding the car extensively other than maybe a muffler for sound then a drop in filter will do just fine.

LOL, I do kinda have a lead foot. Went from a 03 Chev Astro to my 02 GP. Big change in HP and Acceleration. Now, for the big question. What should the setup look like, I am new to all this and would like to have a good setup for later Upgrades. Will be getting a good chunk of money later in the year, and would be using the majority on the Car.

The cone air filter sounds awsome when you whail on it and you can easily make one in a afternoon. I would also suggest some sort of heat shield or mount the filter in the wheel well.

The factory intake box is actually pretty good. The restrictive part is the ribbed f-duct.
