I have read and used the search bar before people attack. I am looking to do a top swap on my 2000 pontiac grand prix gt. I have found the list of parts required and checked a few scrapyards by me (not many) and haven't had much luck. I now am looking into buying the parts required and would like if someone could review to make sure the parts needed are all there, I know there is a lot of knowledgeable people on the forums so that's why I am asking here. I plan to do the swap on a weekend with a friend who is more mechanically inclined than I am but he is on vacation at the moment and I am looking to order the parts asap to get the build underway. The cheapest combo for parts I have found is buying the Supercharger conversion kit at Wbody store, and buying the top swap gasket kit on ZZP. I looked at the parts listed and it seems like everything required is there, just would be helpful if a more knowledgeable person could review the list and confirm, if not let me know additional parts that would be required for the build. The reason I am buying the gasket kit from ZZp is that it is cheaper than the Wbody stores install/gasket kit and the kit also includes a pcm which I do not need, I plan on getting it tuned after the swap. I appreciate any helpful information that you can give me, Thank you.

seems legit. you're looking for all the gaskets from the heads up, the L67 harmonic balancer, the 2 idler pulleys, LIM, blower, TB, rail and injectors. i forgot to look, does the blower have the boost bypass solenoid with it? you'll want to make sure you have the valve and solenoid, as well as the wiring for the solenoid. if you have the hard parts, most auto parts stores will have anything you've forgotten. like head bolts, oil, coolant... that kind of stuff

    ZZP VC gaskets don't fit.

Apparently their LIM gaskets are wonky too.

    Intense top swap is overpriced.

Find one on here for less.

Would I be better off using the zzp L36 supercharger kit? It claims to have everything needed and the blower is ported, the way i posted above was 1,150$, but matt said the gaskets dont fit from zzp. The l36 supercharger kit would be 1,550$ is the price worth it considering the blower is ported? or should i still look around, If you know of any cheaper sites or combos feel free to let me know don't mind saving cash.

zzp gaskets don't fit? news to me. mine were fine. for what it's worth, i've seen eaton genIII m90's with a LIM on this forum for less than $100. porting? couple pictures, a dremel, and a sandwich with some extra bacon. i bought all my parts used, and was in less than $1000 on a top swap, ported heads/lim/blower, cammed, upgraded valve springs, injectors... everything but a tune. used parts for this platform are stupid cheap these days

So im checking out Morad Parts Company - 3800 Motors, Transaxles, & Stock Parts sent in a parts request for all the top swap parts waiting to hear back for a price estimate, im thinking this is the cheapest possible way to go about topswapping. Anyone have good or bad experiences with this site in the past?

morad is usually pretty reliable. have you browsed the classifieds at the bottom of the forum at all?

I'm used to working with Fel Pro or GM gaskets. Maybe my standards are a bit high expecting that the gasket should fit properly every time, it's nice as an installer to have correct fitting gaskets though.

On the VC's, you should note that the bolts have sleeves on them. The sleeves don't allow for any pressure to hold the valve cover to the head, that is the job of the grommet. ZZP kits don't include or mention the grommets. Fel Pro comes out cheaper with grommets than adding grommets to a ZZP kit. ZZP gaskets do fix their aluminum valve covers perfectly. I've done about 10 sets of ZZP gaskets and almost refuse to work on a car when supplied them. It adds time to the job.

The LIM gaskets from ZZP look funny. They pass them off as GM gaskets, I personally think since the pat pending is on them that they are reproductions until the patent is in place. They also don't fit well.

I find that if I buy the gaskets from Advance auto and use a discount code like CCabin on a few orders... I can do better price wise and have all good Felpro gaskets.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I heard back from ed at morad and for all the parts required not including gaskets he is charging 550$ which is a pretty good price I think. Bill Is it still a doable install with zzp's gasket kit? And is there any where that I could find the grommets for the VC? I was looking on Advance auto and I couldnt find all of the gaskets required.

it's doable. he just doesn't like it because you have to sit there and dick around with them for a minute... or 30. as for the grommets, bill's gonna disagree but you could reuse them from the valve covers you're taking off the car. it's not like the oil pressure on the VC gaskets is very high. recommended that they be replaced, but, in a pinch...

Got injector connectors? cuz your harness wont fit the L67 injectors. make sure you have all the bolts. I ordered my gasket kit from Wbody store for some reason, and then it ended up taking like 3 weeks to get everything, that really made me mad. Got the coil pack bracket too? I would really look for a kit on the classifies here, ive seen them for like 150. I got a valve job for my heads after i ported them also. Id probably change the coupler just for S's & G's while its off, as well as the snout seal if you ever take the pulley/hub off (which you probably will) Also as a heads up, the screws from my coil packs didnt fit into the coil pack bracket from the L67, so i had to tap the holes. and dont forget the red RTV for sealing the supercharger to the LIM.

I have everything you listed besides fuel rails and throttle body. PM if youre interested. The heads have brand new valve seals as well, and you can have your choice of red valve covers or stock color.

i ended up buying gaskets from both wbodystore and zzp. i think i got the ZZP swap kit and bought the missing gaskets from wbs as they were cheaper and i was buying Si valves too. even with shipping it came out cheaper. as for the valve cover gaskets. Bill is correct my ZZP gaskets just dont fit in there right.... with lots of push and pull you can get them in.... i think i will spend extra and get the right gaskets that drop in.

Grommets - it really depends on their age/condition. For the lack of taking the alt back off and dealing with oil leaking, they are cheap. Search on "Common part" and my screen name. You'll find the common part number thread. Fel Pro grommet number is in there.

If you bought from Advance grommets are $10

Thanks bill I found the thread. The VC grommet part # is ES72833 if others need it too, ill make sure to add those to my order. JoRow99 would the L67 injector connectors work if I get them off the old motor? Is there any site that sells new ones that I can buy it from, I have been looking around and couldn't find injector connectors for the L67.
