I found a good deal on these...will they work on our cars? I think they are similar to LS7

Kinda pointless though because these are for engines seeing well over 8k which your gp will never in its dreams see

Lol man why the **** would you waste the money? The blocks are thin enough. Stock engine with turbo. You mess with the bottom end you are asking for trouble

The lifters would only set me back 50 bucks, the bottom end was rebuilt and bored over a few years back. The only think I want to do to the bottom is lifters and single roller( If beneficial)

I mean will they affect performance in a bad way? Will they perform pretty much like stock but better at high rpms?

the lifters arent going to be your holdup with high rpm oiling, its going to be the little baby oil passages in the block.

i would just use a stock set of lifters, you're never ever going to rev your car past like 7000 anyway.

What nick just said ^^ if the shop that bored out that block knew anything, it would have been to open up the oil galleys from the tiny ass holes they come with from the factory.

Those lifters will want too much, and the block wont be able to assist them....therefore, you could be looking at a big problem down the road.

This is a 3800, not a cts-v race car that spins at 8k+ with just about 1/2" oil galleys.

I never thought i would have to bring these out again

    but here goes nothing

this is the oil passage in your oil filter neck....

Could you see the problem???? lemme help you

Those weren't even the oil galleys, the oil galleys are the holes that feed the mains and allow the crankcase to be properly oiled..Boring it out without taking these into consideration can result in very bad results in some cases.

If you want to actually learn about your engine, other than the regular day to day things that people talk about on here, give this thread a look. You may have to register on here to go beyond the first page.

Got ya.... so even though the LS7 lifters are a tad more you wouldnt invest in them for a turbo build?
