I want to maximize engine capacity and power in my 03 GP. I am always told to go for the 3400 SC but I feel the 3800 would have a better chance for long range growth! Help I am so unsure :/

Without spending much time and money swapping the entire powertrain and electronics... No.
Wouldnt you only need the PCM engine and harness cuz everything else is the same.
I thought the trans was something else... Maybe I was looking at pregen.
Are the motor mounts the same? If not you'd still need the cradle.
As far as I know they use the same motor mounts. I would have to check.
Mounts are the same, I'm not positive if the downpipe is the same, but most stuff is fairly straight forward with teh wiring harness swap.
I'm gonna check out the wiring diagrams and I will prolly pick up on to stary immediately!! Thanks!!!
Just be sure to change fluids, plugs, wires, top end gaskets, etc...
You will need/want a full PCM tune...as the L26 uses a DBW TB that you can't use like the '04+ cars did.
However, you can get a GenV to L67 TB adapter plate...and run an L67 TB with it.
I would, while the motor is out, recommend a 2.5" or 3" catted downpipe from ZZP to let it breathe.
Other than that...replace the mounts while you're in there as well.
You could just look up my recent thread about putting an L26 into my SC regal. lol
