So to start the car is a 2001 Grand Prix GT with a Naturally Aspirated 3800 Series 2.
To make a long story short: I was working on my car today, and i had the time to have it running for a few min (approx 5-10 min idling). After i shut it off I decide to pop my hood.
After popping the hood, I notice this whitish grey smoke coming from around the engine oil dipstick tube. I decide to pull the dipstick out and check the oil level, all is fine, but the smoke is still coming OUT OF THE TUBE.
The temperature gauge sits at it's usual temperature, and I've had no problems. When the hood was popped you could obviously tell it was hot, especially around the manifolds (in all obviously) Only thing is, the transmission cooling line ( where it attaches to the bottom of the rad, seems to continue to leak (although it's fully tightened)
I do have transmission troubles of which I am well aware of, tis why I am swapping my trans out in the future, it's just this whiteish greyish smoke has really caught my attention, and is really starting to annoy me that i'm going to once again sink even more money into this car, and it's not even road worthy yet.
What are your oppinions on this guys?? If i end up having to do transmission / Engine work, i might look into buying a full GT or GTP parts car with low km's for a fair price. I payed $2500 for the one i have now, and thought i got a good deal on it...
