I found a gtp looks to have everything still under the hood at the local junk yard. My question is can i use these car to get all my parts. I know the 97 gtps had a few different things than the later years besides the tranny. Please help fast because it may not be there long. O and also how can i tell if the blower is bad and if it is is it a hard fix worth doing. Thanks again!

play is bad but a little bit of play may be okay, it may just need a new coupler witch is cheap and super simple to replace especilly if your blower is off the car, and yea thats way to high if your not sure if it works, a guy on here has nice heads for $200 shipped and you can find a Gen 3 for near nothing. if he wants that much dont go for it unless its for the whole set up, S/C, LIM, heads, pulleys, tensioners, crank pulley, injectors, fuel rails, bolts, etc..

I got a complete top swap off a 98 which will work for your 01. can do 300 for everything including all brackets, bolts, heads, fuel rail, injectors, blower, etc. Blower has not play in it and rotors look good. It has about 110k on it but everything looks good. Located a little west of chicago. LMK

id say at a junkyard id maybe pay $250-$300 for everything (if i needed it), if it was in a u-pull-it yard you could get it for that much or less, but if its at a small yard he will most likely charge alot for it.

400$ is pretty bad... i would pay like 140$ for heads/sc at the yard by me. y not just pull the whole engine? much simpler.

97 M90 has the goofy vacuum tree on it. You could essentially cap it off of need be. Be Leary of the heads. Early production 97's make it difficult to fit some aftermarket valvesprings on. Other than that it should work fine. Personally, I wouldn't purchase it for more than $300. Have the heads been checked for cracks etc? May be worth having them tested at a machine shop for peace of mind.

No the heads havent been checked and i havent had the chance yet to go and inspect it since ive been working. Im hoping to go look monday. Im going to take a list of stuff i need and see if he'll give me a deal or not. Also if i did happen to install this on my car with headers and a full inter cooler could i run a 3.3 pulley?

I looked at the link and it said a stage 2 or 3 would allow for a 3.25 pulley or lower on stock car thats why i asked the question because i didnt think that was right. I know i have a higher compression so maybe a 3.4 pulley?

With a good octane, 3.4 might be okay

And that was right. Stage 2, or especially 3 require a lot of goodies added..

Full size, headers, 3.4 pulley on 94 octane.

    That's about it.
