I have a 97 Grand Prix GT with the 3800. I put a salvage yard motor in from an 01 Bonneville. I had to change brackets and stuff and all that went fine. I went to fire it up and as soon as you fire it up and shut it off two or three times it fouls out the plugs. I have correct amount of fuel pressure and good spark everywhere but it still will not start after two times of starting and than shutting off. Need fixed asap!!! Please any suggestions post up and reply. THANKS JAKE

check your crank sensor, if you didnt route the wires right the balancer will chew through the insulation and make them short to ground. this will casue your injectors to do some crazy stuff. do you had an abs or traction light on?

Found my problem. I thought it was fuel on plugs but next time i checked it was water. I looked and looked and couldnt find anything. Than a buddy of mine mentioned the upper plenum. The motor i put in i was in a hurry to get done and forgot a new gasket set on the upper plenum and i just had water in it at the time because i was going to do a flush so it was pouring water into the intake causing it to hydrolock the motor. Thanks for all the help guys. I will definately be using the site more often. I have about 1600 in the car including buying the car, motor, parts and fluids and what not. NEXT TASK IS EXHAUST AND TURBO!!! Any ideas???
