I just bought a EBCM from Moran and am getting ready to install. Is this something you can do with reasonable skill and tools or should I seek out a local shop to help. I am pretty comfortable swapping and working on my car but brakes give me a little cause to pause.

The wheel bearings(hubs) are a common problem I have replaced pass.front twice and the driver front once now I just ordered 2 rear hubs from ZZP for $197 shipped ,so learn to change your own you will save a ton of cash because you will need to replace them all eventually.

I have add a 99 GP and a 01 monte, now a 04 GP, I have resolved the ABS and TRAC OFF light on the GP by replaceing the EBCM, as for the 01 and up I have found a common ground issue, after replacing the ground ( a good ground location ) the issues stopped, and the lights went off. Not sure this will offer a fix for everyone but it doesn't hurt to look or check with a voltage meter. Having a bad ground will cause issues with a scanner not being able to scan the code and PCM/BCM issues.

Example - To test the ground: Test the negative battery connections to the ground connection.
Voltage - Should be 13.8 to 14.2 during idle. Now there may be a small difference in the voltage.
If there is small difference ( Example - At the battery - 14.1 at the ground connection 13.9) then your normally fine. If the voltage difference is more then 0.8 volts or higher, this will normally cause a error and the PCM will is most cases not function properly.

Now this may not fix everyone's issue but it could fix different ones and the ABS/TRAC issue.
