If you want to spend the money, a turbo set up, or top swap. Recomend the turbo though.

Not to be a wet blanket but it's going to take at least well fed turbo setup and maybe even some shaved weight to get that tank into the 13's. The NA 3.8's do respond well to modification, as I've found out, but you've got to take into account how heavy these monsters are and even with the altered shift points thanks to a new PCM, the automatic tranny slows it down even more. These cars run good, but NA you're fighting a seriously uphill battle.

It's going to take a bit of $$ on your part to get there, and if you're honestly shooting for 13's I'd say leave the cosmetics out of it, the cars look good enough as is and it'd just distract you from the more important goal.

Either way, best of luck to you

^^ A good top swap with a few supporting mods(dp,intake) and a good tune should be more than capable of 13.9's, a stock GTP can run 14.5, and you have higher compression and better gearing (3.29) in a GT

Edit, a Turbo will start you in the mid 13's though........

^^^ I [edit]third that[i'm a slow typer], even the stock GTP runs a high 14 low 15 1/2 mile and still takes a bit of cash to get into the high 13 second range. If your serious about getting into the 13's i would defiantly look into the turbo kit, i beleive the most popular one is this one from ZZP. They claim 300 hp with a n/a gp and 400hp with an intercooler.

The downfall, do you have 3k minimum and a good deal of time to spend with instillation? or another 1k if you want the intercooler?

As iv herd it so eloquently put before you got to pay to play.

Not that it makes much scene but i believe he is saying he is going to give his engine and tranny the supporting mods to be able to run the turbo and ic. One mode will be exhaust work.

Then when he has the above completed he will run nitrous in the car to see if the mods hold up the the stress.

[idk im kinda taking a shot in the dark to see how close i am]

Buy the Z7 turbo kit from ZZP and have a recommended installer install it. Start saving up money for transmission rebuild and hard parts. You don't need to touch the inside of the engine to run 13's on their turbo setup, if anything just get different rockers. You don't need an intercooler if you only want mid 13's.

You don't need Nitrous, but exhaust always helps. A full 3" would be a nice complement to the turbo.

im sure im gonna be in the 13's farily easily with a 3.4 pulley intake, headers and tune. i wouldent throw out a top swap yet.

300hp from a turbo setup could push you into the 12's...

What are you going to top swap if you're already supercharged?
