I'm trying to determine if the wrong maf was put on my car. I have a 2001 gt with 3800 and it has the afh50m-04, I'm wondering if it should be the afh50m-05 instead. The engine light is on because of that as i had it coded today. Any opinions anyone?

Does it run fine is the first question I'll ask you...

All of the MAF's from 97-03 are the same...it's the throttle body's that vary.

What? Nick remember how the 97/98 has the post in the TB and the 99+ don't have the post. That makes the sensor different.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

It stalls some when it's col,d but runs fine after engine is warmed up, both sensors look similar.

    No, you read me wrong

97/98 open the throttle body, there is a solid metal post. It's not part of the sensor, I meant..it had the post, therefore the sensor in that year has no bulky shield on it.
99+ has no post in the TB structure and therefore has the plastic shielding as part of the sensor.

They do from the top. Look at the part of the sensor that sticks into the TB. There's your difference that we are talking about.
