Ive been reading and reading about a cam. Im thinking of getting one of the gt cams, either the gt1 or the gt2. But my question is, is which one should I go with? ZZP states that the gt1 can do 20-30 hp and is great for nitrous or intercooled system. The gt2 cam is 25-35 hp but will set the ses light. So im stuck as of which to pick. If i get a cam I will get headers and maybe down the road ported heads. Any help would be appreciated.

would be obvious to get a turbo cam.... ST2 or ST5 will both work, but a ST2 will be SLIGHTLY more normal to drive around in.

They'll work better than the stock cam when N/A then when you add boost you'll go fast.

Because the only way to go fast is boost.

I know everyone is telling me boost boost boost, but i want to stay N/A for a while. The only way ill boost is getting the ssm90 LIM and putting a genv on it. Im looking for an ssm90 lim and its like impossible. But any way with my N/A build I am going to have a CAI, Headers, Cam, Wires, elec wp, and 70 shot nitrous. I didnt know which cam to go with so thats why I made this thread.

If I were you, I'd throw a GT2 in there. (Almost did)

    Why? Because it sounds cool.

Honestly to tell you the truth I was thinking about that cam (actually to the point of almost ordering it) but I was concerned about it if it actually made 25hp and if it works with nitrous.

it'll work with nitrous, but a nitrous cam would have an earlier EVO timing.

Since I do not have a cam card for a GT1, I'd guesstimate the GT2 has an earlier EVO.

GT2 seems very similar to the GT1.

Just seems like slightly more duration and a lower LSA.

    ZZP GT2: 216/216 .507/.507 111

    ZZP GT1: 210/210 .507/.507 113

I dont know if this helps you but this is what I found a bunch of numbers lol Can you tell from this which one has an earlier EVO

I know the complete valve event timings for the GT2, not the GT1.

You'd need the cam card for that.

Ask ZZP how the GT2 copes with nitrous.
