My 2001 Grand prix is throwing a PO 102 Maf sersor bad code. I bought a new one and installed it. The car runs horribly with it in. I went back to old one and cars runs fine but throws code. I need to get car through WI state emissions test and cannot have code on scan. Plug at sensor shows 12v and 5v between the three terminals.
Is there anything I am missing or can I jump the plug out to clear the code?

how the wires look at the end of the maf plug? are they cracked or exposed wires? if so you need a new pig tail for it.

if the wires look ok, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and put the new maf back in, see what happens when you start it back up.

pulling the battery should clear the code.

Did you buy a stock replacement MAF or some cheapy auto store MAF.
