Turned on the 03 GP on Saturday. It was clanking like crazy, took into the shop. $450 to take off valve covers and install gasket kit once they troubleshoot the problem.

Call today, rockers are loose but bolts are tight, can't see anything. Think the oil pump is clogged. $378 to pull oil pan, check pump and see if something is going on there.

$828.00 so far and don't know what's the problem.

Body and interior in great shape. Do I put in a new crate motor and drive on or wait for the damage from the existing motor?

The oil pan shouldn't need to come off to check the pump. To check for anything clogging the pickup tube strainer, yes..not to check pump though. Pump is located in the front cover.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
