2000 grand prix GTP. 140,000 miles. Idles fine when cold, but if you rev it up it mis-fires at 4000rpm. When it gets warm, it stalls.
Changed plugs, wires, and coil packs. Cat is about 30 degrees hotter in front than back. Can't find any Vaccum leaks.
    Any help would be appreciated!

in Park you are revving it?

If so thats the rev limiters.

It is in park. The whole car will shutter, and the rpm will drop 1000 rpm. It will also stutter when revving it up at all rpm when it's warmed up. When idling warm, the rpm will roam a bit and it will randomly die. Restarts without issue. If you put it in drive and hold the brake and give it gas, it will shutter & die.

First off the car wont rev past 4000 rpm in park, because thats the rev limiter/fuel cut off.

As for the car sputtering and dying, have you done a tune up lately?

Are there any Check engine lights on the could help tell what the problem is?

Some of these symptoms could be a faulty cam or crank sensor, thus telling the computer to cut spark and fuel and make it die.

Replaced plugs, wires, dist. packs. New air filter. Have not replace fuel filter. Have not replaced any other sensors. There are no codes and no ces light on.

So I've driven without major issues the last 2 days with the MAF sensor unplugged. It did Die going from the freeway to a stoplight. started right up and drove without a problem. Obviously the SES light is now on. Going to give it a couple more days, but it looks like a MAF sensor is in my future. Any suggestions for a quality one?
