    The other day car was hard to start.... 3rd try it started. Went to go bowl lastnite it wouldnt start, was running late so i took other car... This morning went to see if it would start and it did first try! Noticed it was ideling at 2k... Also notice the cooling fans were running..?!? Car was ICE cold.... buddy ran the code 118 and 103 or 102 cant remember..

    Both are high Circuit, coolant temp sensor and MAF. Would really cause the car not to start..?

    Also the the rpms jump up and down while driving... When i take my foot off the gas the motor revs up then down then back up again. As i start to come to a stop/slow down, it goes away. When stopped it idles fine mostly. A lil bit of a up and down idle but not bad.. Does it mostly 30mph to 45ish mph is when its REALLY noticeable....

    ANY HELP ON THIS PROBLEM WOULD GREAT APPRECIATED!!! THANKX

    dirty/bad MAF, Vac Leak, Missfire. One of the 3.

    Are you getting any codes?

    OBD-II Trouble Code: P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input
    OBD-II Trouble Code: P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
    OBD-II Trouble Code: P0103 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit High Input

    Sounds like both sensors are bad. A bad maf can give you huge driveability issues if not taken care of. You can try cleaning the MAF again, but odds are it needs replaced.

    Ya im plan on replacing it... Just hoping its not the fuel pump!! :-/

    Cant seem to find what the pressure is supo to be....

    Even checked the alt and battery, both were good but my redtop in trunk wasnt...

    Turn the key to ign, but don't start it, you should hear the pump prime.

    Another thing i noticed this summer when i changed plugs and wires was on the coil pack posts. One post on every coil pack was like rusted looking..??! The other post(s) was fine and shiney looking...

    All posts on the coils should be shiny. If not, clean them up w/ a scotchbrite (NOT STEEL WOOL) and put some dielectric grease on them and in the plugwire boots.

    You can try disconnecting the MAF and see if it will run/drive any better. It will be hard to start/run at first but should eventually smooth out. If this is the case and the driveability issues clear up, then time for a new MAF. Also, while driving/running without the maf DO NOT BEAT ON IT! Just drive smoothly as the car is running off of pre-programmed tables at this point and cannot always adjust for extreme changes in driving style.

    Ok well i changed my coolant temp sensor and thermostat. Car starts right up, ran fine after we cleared the codes. The 0103 popped back up again. Car idle surgess after you take you foot of the while driving. "REALLY noticeable around 30 to 45mph" in park or stopped at a light car idles fine. Its not that the car drives "bad" it just this dammn idling thing!!

    Should i replace the maf?? Can get from junk yard for 45ish.. I know there expensive new

    Oh we checked the fuel pressure which was around 45 psi... That normal..??
