My car has been revving up on it's own almost got me in a wreck today. And now tonigh I was idling and it clunked and died. It started right back up but then sputtered when I accelerated. Seems to have most problems at idle

Have you checked for vac leaks?

Where are all the vac lines at? Is it just the ones towards the front on top that slide on and off easily?

There is also a vac line on the back of the UIM towards the middle. It's 2 lines- a big one and a little one. Spray some carb/brake cleaner around it and see if the tone of the motor changes. If so, then there's your leak. Might also help if you clean the MAF.

If you rule out vac leaks then it may be necessary to clean the TB and replace the IAC.
