    Hey forum,

I know I am still fairly new to modding 3800's so please don't be to harsh on me for asking this. I am thinking about trying to port the stock exhaust manifold on my 99 GPGT, my question is are the stock exhaust manifold gaskets reusable or do you need to toss 'em in the trash after you take them off. I have next to no money to spend on this so if I don't have to buy new gaskets that would be great. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tgarison

    Thanks,

It will more then likely be the middle part of next week before i can get started on this. How much of a pain is it to remove the rear manifold?

That and you'll probably snap the crossover bolts that go to the rear manifold.

    Hey dsmuts,

Well just like you said when I tried to get the crossover bolts out i broke the two going to the rear manifold, my question to you is this do you know how to get those stupid bolts out with out removing the rear manifold? More specifically do you know what size socket i need to remove them? I have tried the following sizes with no luck: 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 5/8, 16mm. Any info you can give me would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tgarison

Do what I did. Cut the stud off and the drill out the rest of the stud(and welded nut if needed). Then replaced it with 2 bolts and nuts.

As stated don't worry about rear manifold. I have pictures in my build thread click the link in my sig 1st or 2nd page.
