Hello all, Just picked up a 97 gp 3800. The car has a rumbling vibration at idle that goes away soon as you give it gas. I believe the mounts are good as it does the same in reverse, drive or park. It also has the Dexsludge problem and it appears the LIM is leaking. It is puddling up in the area between the water pump and the lower aluminum section of the manifold. The car also seems to not have the power it should, and seems to respond slow. It had a code for a misfire in #5, so I changed out the pluggs, they were horribly worn. It's throwing a PO141, the AZ guy told me thats the o2 under the hood, but in researching here it seems that its actually the after cat O2?

Could the LIM leak cause the car to run this way, or is it related to the bad O2 sensor?

I believe this code means the heated section of the sensor is bad. The car runs the same hot or cold. Could this code also indicate a clogged cat?

    TIA!

Sounds like you need to do the lim gaskets, get a new cat and a new post o2 sensor.

While you are in there you might as well get some 1.9 rockers 105 springs, Headders, and new o2 sensors.

Mine shot that code so I just got a catless downpipe and going to have a tune and the codes deleted so emissions will be all good. All that ill be in less than $300 with a open cone intake. Mucho easier unless its just need the post o2. A new cat and new o2 will run close-ish to that much but Ill just have more power now so it was worth the extra $100(when I get the tune). Oh and the G8's have a twin turbo setup well Holden same thing, but you can get were a single on a GP like ^^said.

    Hi all,

I am still a newbie here so i don't know how much weight this will carry. As far as the misfire goes you could have a coil pack going out or bad plug wires, or any number of other things. Now on the dexjunk leak based on where you said you noticed it it might be one of the coolant elbows. There are two of them in that area, they are made of hard plastic, and they have been known to leak coolant, they break just before the o-ring usually. Like I said I am a newbie and maybe one of the moderators can confirm this or correct me on this.

    Hope this helps,
    tgarison

I had a misfire and it was right after a lucus fuel treatment. I ended up fouling a plug when I went to romp on it. I changed the wires and plugs and everything is good now. Ill do the coils maybe when I get my bonus but I think Im good there. Either way plugs and wires

All cars have there lil issues our have less than many. A buddy has a 2010 sumthing civic SI and has had many recalls and TSB's already. Its always sumthing that works great in one car and doesnt in another. I think were better off than most since ours is usually lil odds and ends. Not counting the tranny lol
