This sounds like the wiper transmission is wore out. the wipers on my old 97 GT did the same thing.

I dropped in a new motor/trans assembly from Ed Morad.... and all was well again!!!

nope thers a tab by on the likage rite on the shaft of ur wiper motor this tab gets bent really easy ie frozzen wiper blades or frozen water in the linkages its super easy to fix. Remove the wiper arms and remove the cowel cover and find the motor and look for a little metal tab and take a flat screwdriver and a hammer and tap it into place ther should be a 90 degree bend in it. If you dont know wat im talking about or cant find the tab lmk ill go snap you a picture. I just fixed mine the other day. Wen i lived in wisconsin i did this maybe a once opr twice a year. If you have an older gp years of the motor hitting this tab can bent it also. Its a pretty beefy tab to bend so easy.

I think the next time i do it ima do a write up on it

Having a problem with mine too. When I have the delay on, the wipers go all the way up, come all the way back down, then go about a 1/4 of the way up and stops. Then it cycles again and the same thing. Turn the wipers of and they goback down. Put the regular wipers on and they work normal. It's just when they are on delay, they don't stop at the bottom like they're suppose to. I thought I had heard somewhere about having to syncronize them or something. Anyone have a clue?

Did you end up finding a solution for this? My son just bought a 97 GP GT. The wipers work perfectly on regular or high speed, but when they are in intermittent mode, they do the same thing. They go through a normal cycle, then stop about 1/4 of the way from the bottom of the windshield. It only does this on intermittent mode though. On regular or high, they go through a normal cycle. When they are off, they seem to be in the correct position.

I'm having problems with my wipers on a 2005 GrandPrix. Sounds like possible pin that needs to be placed back in place.
I'm having problems removing the wiper arm. Need assistance!

There's alittle cam/pin assembly that is like a little transmission for the wipers. If the pin is bent or missing then the wipers don't go down when you turn them off. If they work at all 90% guarantee it is not the motor. Mine stay vertical and I don't even care because when it was icy in MI they didn't get stuck in the down position haha. Bonus.

ok so last weekend i took apart my windshield wipers and took that plastic piece off and bent the tab up tward the motor. I put everything back together and they still are doing the same thing but not as bad. Sometimes they will be up and sometimes they are down in the right spot! Not fun let me tell you. Grrr
