So because my old man has been busy the past few years and atm my moms been driving his car and hes driving the truck I drove before I got my grand prix and yesterday he called me and said I needed to look at his car cause mom said it overheated and she stopped and added some coolant. So he said go check it out cause he was sure she got the wrong kind and could have even put it in the washer fluid.

So I go pop the hood and for starters it was pretty much black it was so dirty I know for a fact it hasn't been cleaned under the hood for 40k miles and but I could still see the coolant level cause of course she put some generic blue coolant in there and not dex cool.

so I got to looking around the thing and checked the air filter which was the one it left the car lot with in 06 and I could not belive it there were cigerets band-aids half birds etc... so I had a K&N drop in that I put in there, and I checked the oil if you can even call it that because it was more like black brown water with chunks in it. Turns out the oil hasn't been changed in like 60k so yeah... this car pretty much needs everything and I don't even know where to start but I doubt I'm even going to do anything cause I'm not putting money and work into there car like that when they could have asked me before or done it themselves its a shame to see such a nice 06 get neglected like that though

Oil/Oil Filter, Seafoam, Fuel Filter change (if the '06 has it), TB Cleaning, Plugs/Wires, Coolant flush and replace with green/yellow stuff, new LIM gaskets/coolant elbows. Should be a good start.

what about trans I know its never been changed in its 130k miles and I drove it yesterday and under 5mph the trans is whining so much that It sounds like your riding on a zero turn mower maybe thats the power steering idk cause I couldnt find the power steering bottle but I checked the trans fluid and it showed it being over filled which dosen't make sense idk

Just do a pan drop and replace the filter. I definitely wouldn't do a tranny flush with those miles on it.

Few other chime ins, might as well do a new tstat while your doing the flush. And I concur on the tranny part, fluid and filter replace, no flush. When cleaning TB, might as well clean MAF. Check tires cause if nothing else was done, check those. Hate for your mom to blow a tire when she doesn't do upkeep on the car. As for the fuel filter, the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump, and should last the life of the fuel pumps. The power steering pump is whining at you, its located toward the bottom rear of the passenger side of the block. Might need a flashlight to see it cause its down there a ways. As for checking the tranny fluid, make sure car is at operating temperature and running when you check it. Some say it doesnt have to be at operating temperature, but its whatever.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

The power steering reservoir is behind and a little bit lower than the alternator, little cap with a dipstick on it. Make sure to wipe around the cap before you take it off, really really easy to knock dirt and crap in there.

I would probably do the coolant first thing asap before the dex gels up with whatever she put in there... seems like Dex's natural reaction to anything is to gel up...
