would a flowmaster 80 series sound good on a stock 3.8 just wonderin

I know this isn't much help but 40 series sound great. Not sure how they compare to an 80 series though.
sorry think 40s on a 3.8 sound like garbage.
when i did my exhaust on my last car i went through 3-4 systems before i found the one i like.
Top picks
1. Dynomax Ultra flows ( was the winner for last car )
2. Magnaflow
3.some brand i cant remember but big with mustang owners. if i heard the name ill prob know it
i have flowmasters on my car (i think they are 40 series, came on it when i bought it) and they are only good at WOT. idle and cruise are droney and blah. there is no sound definition, its just loud.
as far as the mustang v6 guys mufflers, they preach about MACs a lot. a good friend of mine put them on his gtx but i never really got to hear it before he got rid of it.
if i were to change my exhaust from what it is now i would get a high flow cat > the biggest glasspack i can find > stock mufflers. i want to hear whine, nothing else.
hey i was wondering if any of you guys have done a 3" exhaust from manifold back, I'm looking at getting rid of the cat and ubend, i guess the resonator as well and doing 3" exhaust pipe all the way back and then do to aftermarket mufflers.
Let me know if anyones done the 3" exhaust, I might keep the resonator in there seeing how a lot of people say you should keep it or else the sound goes to crap
