It's definitely not one of the first things you should do. Don't get all "fast and the furious" on us.

I had 124k on my car when I got it and did a few mods to it. It depends on what you want to do to it.

The 3800 will last a LONG time as long as it's taken care of. The tranny, on the other hand...

There are guys out there that have over 200k miles on their car and run 12sec 1/4 and below that still drive them daily. Take care of the car and it will take car of you. Same goes for the tranny, if you beat the ever living crap out of it, it will die fast. Any auto car you mod will require a tranny sometime.

    Its fine for modding.

It really depends on how far you want to go. Simple bolt ons and a tune are good if you just want a faster daily driver.

If you start to mod, you'll get the bug...
1 day you will do a top swap or a turbo...
When you open up the motor, take time to do it right
I'd be willing to bet if taken care of these cars can see well over 300k miles

Why would you want it? It's called a purge, by the way.

Don't go with Nitrous Oxide. It only leads to premature engine failure. It really is not worth it to put Nitrous in a car.

I used nitrous oxide for years on both cars and boats, but to get more than a 25%-30% gain and use it often, you need a bottom end build similar to a turbo or supercharger except higher compression ratios are o.k. If you have a fuel solenoid failure you will likely toast a piston, or worse. If you get greedy with h.p. on a stock engine you will break something. N20 is a good adder in the right application but it really isn't cheap h.p. over the long run!
