Can't you just replace you IAC with a new one? My IAC doesn't make that sound. Maybe it's a sign of age?
What?
face it. the intake is always going to make that noise when you have a huge opening for air to flow in. if you dont like it put your stock air box back on and stock being a whiner.
thanks for the assinine remark bio. If you had read ANY of the post you would understand what we were even talking about.....
I guess it is something to do with the deisgn of the 3.8 iac port. I think i read somewhere that there may be a way to port it out to make the sound "better" but nobody has a cure. I just dont get it my buddy just put a cai on his durango (granted its a 5.9 v8) But at idle you cant even hear it!!! His tubing is twice the diameter of mine (not really...) and its a paperish cone. There has to be a cure to this stupid "until its warmed up" noise.....
Let me be clear, mine makes a lot of suction noise when cold, but that's it. There's no weird IAC sound. And I have a 3.8 just like you.
no i was refering to bio for calling us whiners....
Deleted. I'm a dummy...
i deal with it everyday, so i know all too well what youre talking about. it just doesnt bother me. i rather like it.
but as far as the IAC being the problem, im not sure on that. my car makes loud sucky noises all the time. having a blower may attribute to that, but i couldnt tell you for sure.
Normal sound. It's the design of the IAC seat and pintle. When the engine is warming up, the IAC is closed more than when the engine is warm. There is no real "fix" unless you change out the throttle body for a different design.
what kind of different design do you think would work? Mind you we are talking about a N/A 3.8 and i dont think the N* will work.
putting a GTP TB onto a L36....only makes it worse. just throwing that out there...
from my own experience...lol
lol the gtp tb is much bigger thats why...
