i just bought this car, didnt start before i bought it i bought a new battery for it, replaced the starter and solenoid, as well as the upper intake gasket because that was leaking.i hooked up the battery and all the interior lights come on and stay on, the fuel pump will not kick in, power windows and locks do not work, sunroof will not go back and i can tell no power is getting to the starter. also the warning lights do not come on even when the key is turned to the on position. however, headlights and tail lights work and when i put the key in and turn it the chime works. i am so confised and i dont know what to do to make it run again

so nothing that runs off the fusebox works? check power and ground to your fuse boxes

is there an in line fuse in between the fuse box and ignition? what are the possibilities of it being a bad ECM? the way it seems is that one of the 2 fuseboxes i know of is not working properly, i just dont know where to start tearing into it.

you can use a voltmeter and see if there is power and ground potential

well i used a voltmeter and found that for some reason no power is getting down to the starter. i did find a wiring harness in my glove box that has one black wire and one purple one. they are 12 gage i believe. at least the purple one matches the purple wire coming off of the starter. do you happen to know where that wire runs to? i tried to trace it to see where it ran this afternoon but i lose the wire as soon as i get to the air filter box.

i thought the battery cable goes from the battery to the starter? cant you jump the starter (purple wire hooked on starter) and jump it from the main battery cable hooked on the big terminal of the starter...a screwdriver would allow them to connect....it seems like there is someplace that a wire is touching ground. im not sure this is a hard one. weird that all the lights on the cluster dont work...mite be the battery cables or loos connection..
