Temp gauge jumps from 100 (where it starts) to over 210
in less than 5 minutes and I'm thinking no way, that fast.
It will actually go into the red before the fans come on and will
then only drop back down to around 225, again showing of the gauge.
My question is, where would I connect an aftermarket gauge
to the engine, so I can check it?
I've had this car, 98 GP non-sc, for over 10 years (wife loves it).
Never any real problems except the trans. going out last year.
I've been using the search for the last couple days for anything
causing this, but can't seem to find the right answers.
Have changed the tcs a couple times, radiator has been replaced
(about a year ago), t-stat changed to lower one, water pump
is working. System burped of air. Now I thinking about the ecu.
I did notice that both fans come on during the high temp, but I've read
that each should come on at different temps. Oh, I've also removed and
checked the relays and have even swapped them around.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Larry
