I have an 02 GP GT Coupe and I want more juice out of it with mild to medium difficulty mods.

I dont want to top swap or turbo, to much work and I havent the knowledge/time or money to figure it out... So far I have installed a borla cat-back exhaust and have a thrasher CAI being delivered this week (i know home made FWI is better/cheaper but I got a wicked price on a used one off clubgp and its easier for me)

Now, my question is - SD headers:

97-03 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 3.8L 3-1 RACING HEADER EXHAUST: eBay Motors (item 170469647493 end time Aug-04-10 17:40:43 PDT)

Am I right in thinking the only other item I need for install is a new cat:
    ZZ Performance

The SD headers have a 3" downpipe I believe but my Borla catback is 2.5" is this going to be a problem? Does the downpipe mount to the cat which mounts to the catback exhaust? I have read that its all bolt together and the rear o2 sensor plugs in just after the cat where the ubend used to go?

Once this job is done it should get rid of all the stock restrictions, stock cat, u-bend etc right?

Is it better to just do plog/downpipe?

I know these posts are everywhere but I am gettin confused by too much information and conflicting answers...

    Thanks anyone for the help

PLOG+DP setup will help you keep your low end torque; headers move up your power band (lose low end power, gain high end).

SD's bolt right up to 2.5".

Both setups will remove your exhaust restrictions, though headers will do more.

New cat would come with a standalone downpipe if you order it right, but will come in handy for headers.

    Think I got it all.

Get headers, HV3, ER rockers or a cam.

But camming a GT is a waste of time.

Headers= worth it for a GT.

Instead of falling on its face at 4 grand it keeps going.

Uhh hv3. this mod is not getting enough attention in this thread. IMO it should be #1 on your list.

No, HV3 and the ER rockers are two mods that must go hand in hand for that 30 HP they claim.

that may be, but i still believe this is the best mod in terms of value for a GT.
