Ok....So from some of the information I've gathered basically a top swap hybrid is a normal top swap retaining your l36 balancer correct?
If so how does this compare to swapping over to the L67 balancer?
*Side Question* while being in the process of top swapping does that make it easier to just throw a cam in there or does that still require taking the whole motor out?

Thanks all help is definetly appreciated I wanna get this project done

why would you want to do this? the only reason you'd debate this is if youre a bum and dont want to change your heads.

bum? how do you figure? i was just asking about how they compare after reading it in the "sticky" post! i already have L67 heads along with everything else almost besides the harmonic balancer, vaccum lines and a tuned pcm

Nick was talking about the ssm90 style swap where you keep the na heads. Just get an l67 balancer and make it simple.

the balancer is easy to change anyways.

Just get the bolts from ZZP and rent a puller.

Pliers on the flex plate and big breaker bar.

you NEED the balancer unless you want to buy the SSM90 hub and pulley.

And a cam requires either 6-8 inches drop of the subframe or pulling the engine.

The ssM90 kit ends up being WELL over $1K, close to $1500. Do you have any pull'n'picks nearby that you could go look for a balancer?

You can't find an L67 Balancer?
