I replaced my MAF sensor last Thursday after having a friend scan the check engine light. It came back low voltage on the input sensor I believe. I replaced it, and the car was running fine till today. I was on the freeway driving between 50-55 and the RPM's would go up, not much, but enough to notice. It almost seemed like it was in overdrive, then decided not to be. Thank fully I was in the slow lane, because the car stalled. Put it in park, tried starting but it only sputtered. Tried it a few more times, then the last time I tried, it ran for about 10 seconds, then quit. I called a tow truck, and during the hour and a half it took for them drive two miles from their HQ to where I was, the car decided it wanted to start again. It will start and drive now, but for how long, I have no clue.
Any tips? I called Autozone (D'oh!) where I bought the MAF and they told me to drive it there and they'll test it ON the car. The guy also said its not the MAF because of the RPM thing (when the mech who spotted the sensor issue told me that the RPM fluctuation can be caused by the MAF). I know better than to trust an Autozone employee. In short, theres no way in hell I'm driving it to autozone, because A.) They're morons and B.) I dont even know If I'll make it.
Also, mechanic friend is out of town, so he cannot diag.
Any help would be appreciated.
