I see there are alot of top swap posts up ATM, Mine is different question
I've called all the local junkyards around my area (Atlantic Canada). Only two of them had 2004 GTP's, and they are unwilling to sell me parts. The'll only sell me the engine as a whole. the cheapest I could find was a car (engine) with 87 000 KM's for 2400.00$ CAN.
Which is Bull**** at that price I may as well save up for a brand new engine.

My question is, what are my options? Can any of you find a junkyard that doesnt want to rip everyone off? if that's the case, I think even with shipping to canada It'd be well under 2000$.

I really appreciate any help i can get, I'm leaning strongly toward a top swap.

i found 3 whole L67 engines on craigslist by where i live for $300 or under, a gen V setup is gonna be at least $400 for just the supercharger...much more expensive

You might as well try to find some stuff in the states with people willing to ship to Canada...that would be my best guess

yeah I've been browsing the classifieds hoping... I wish ppl would just put the year of the car and make 2004 GTP tells me its S/C and gen 5. l67 and l26 is still confusing to me, still trying to memorise.

You can put a GenIII on there you know that right? You just need a matched LIM and reroute your EVAP/Vacuum lines for the blower and use and adapter plate for the L32 Throttle Body...that should save you a good chunk of change.

my buddy has a 97 gtp, that would be a gen III engine right? does that mean i could do the swap with his engine?
if not can i use any of his parts to save me money?

EDIT: i see after reading up, when you said gen III you meant the supercharger only, not the engine parts.

You can literally use most of the L67 parts.

just not the TB and fuel rail.

Some people will get lucky and do a Gen III top swap for $600 for everything, others can spend $1200 easily for a Gen V. It depends what you want.

Yea I have a question too, I look at zzp's site for all the top swap parts (ported m90, modifed lower intake manifold, ss m90 kit, billet fuel logs, pulley.) I was wondering could I find a gtp in a wrecker or something and take the s/c and lower intake manifold and whatever else I need? Cause if I get it from zzp its gona be around 1700$ plus 300-400 for shipping

Dude.... thats the way you're supposed to do it.

Get everything from the heads up, the harmonic balancer and coil bracket and the one idler bracket that mounts to the block.

It'd be MUCH cheaper than the SSM90 kit... which is not considering a true top swap by most around here.

Cheapest way is to find someone local or a local wrecker to pull the parts from.

Next bet is something like this: http://www.grandprixforums.net/f49/g...wap-32211.html

I went with the zzp m90 kit, Was a easy install and went smooth, and I didnt have to worry about getting used heads. If you go zzp m90 send them a blower core and LIM core dont get fuel logs, you can make your own rails. I got the logs but they suck IMO. Constant leaking at the regulator. That will bring the price you quoted way down, think I payed like 1K and that was with like 300 into the fuel Logs

I ordered the top swap kit from morad for $1000 and the gaskets and other odds and ends were like another $200 I have my parts list if you want it. This was a gen V top swap. Be ready to do wiring into the pcm, rerouting of vacuum lines, pulling off the balancer, changing heads and LIM!

    lionel 97-03 is a gen 3 s/c with l67 engine 04+ is the l32 with gen 5 s/c

if u want to go the cheap route get all the l67 parts except u will need the tb and fuel rail to be l32 so u will need an adapter plate from zzp or if u know someone who can make one u can do that and for $2400 u could do a turbo build if u got the money to
