I believe tuning it will fix that. If ZZP says they will give you a tune and you do not send in your pcm first than yes they will give you a new pcm.
On another note, the harmonic balancer... This was the hardest part of the top swap for me. You have to remove the inspection cover and jam the flywheel with a HUGE screwdriver. Than either get an impact gun if available or a HUGE breaker bar. We had to use a breaker bar and the pole off of my jack to create an even bigger bar and the bolt broke loose easy. Than I had the pulley puller from advanced but the bolts were to big!!!! So either get one from ZZP or go to the hardware store by the longest skinniest bolts you have screw them into the pulley! Not behind the pulley like it is supposed to be used. (you might need to use sockets as spacers) Than twist the big bolt provided in your puller kit so that it pushes off of the crank. It is almost using the tool backwards. If you dont want to do this order the puller off ZZP and it can be used as it is intended.
Also get a gen 5 supercharger and all the L32 components it will be much easier.
So what if it doesn't read boost? It'll go to 100 kPa and stop. Oh well.
If you get one from ZZP, it's probably going to be an L32 tune, in which case you'd want to use a 2 bar MAP.
Uh vice grips on the flexplate would be easier.
Just use a nice 1/2" 40" breaker bar and a 15/16'ths socket. Use the car as leverage and it should come off.
I found it more difficult torquing it back down than getting it off.
Just get the ZZP bolts and make sure they're fully threaded before you start trying to pull it off.
Lets settle this once and for all... you NEED a 2 bar MAP sensor. Get one, and make sure the map tables are for the tune that sensor is from.
Top swap IMPLIES you are using the GM 2 bar map sensor.
Damn this is going to be a hit on the pocketbook if I go Gen V instead of Gen III. I was hoping to get the whole thing done for around $700. Can I get the Gen III intake manifold and still use the Gen V blower?
Can anyone tell me what A and B are in this picture? A looks like a cap-off for something and B looks like what I thought the MAP was. Is this correct?
This is a picture of a Gen V supercharger it confirms that the L32 fuel rail and injectors will bolt in because that looks exactly like my L26 injector rail configuration except injectors bosses are in heads not intake manifold. Can someone point out the whereabouts of the MAP sensor on this engine.

Continuing with a couple questions here.
1. What sensor is this?
2. Where will this hook up to?
3. Will need this tube after the swap?
4. Where will this sensor be located? Is it going to be on the supercharger? What is this sensor called?
5. To take the fuel rail apart I take that clip off obviously... do I need a special took to get the connection apart or do you "pinch" it and it comes apart?
6. Do I need this coolant port from an L67 intake or are they interchangable?
7. MAF sensor (obviously) I keep my stock MAF for the swap?
1. That's the EVAP purge solenoid. It's one I hadn't really considered. If you're using a Gen III, you'll need the L67 EVAP setup. The Gen V uses the same setup.
2. That's the brake booster vac line, it goes to that vacuum manifold on top of the blower that we talked about earlier.
3. That's another one I hadn't considered, it's the PCV inlet. You'll either need to get mini to add a port for that on the adapter or run the line to the front valve cover instead. Again, that's only if you use the Gen III, it should hook right up to the Gen V.
4. That's the MAP sensor.
5. You need a special tool, available at any auto parts store.
6. They're the same.
7. Keep your stock MAF.
So I am going to go with the Gen V blower. To do this can I jsut get the Gen V blower and the L32 lower intake manifold and get L67 heads? Bascially what I am asking is will the L32 intake manifold bolt up directly to the L67 heads or do I need to get L32 heads too?
Speaking with another member on here who has done this same swap before except he did a Gen V on a 2005 GT, he said I am goingto have to wire in a barometric sensor to the PCM as well as wiring in the wires for the BBV. Easy to forget these things looking at the big picture. Doesn't sound too painful though. My parts list right now is looking like $1100 total for a Gen V swap. I think I could get a Gen III swap for closer to $800 or even $750.
First one is the MAP sensor... Second one doesnt need to be hooked up if you turn TCS everytime you get into the car.
barometer measures pressure, thats what the MAP sensor does. MAP means Manifold Absolute Pressure.
You dont need to hook up the BBV (Blow by valve) solenoid as long as you turn traction control off every single time you turn the car off. If you do not wish to disable traction control all the time, then you need to hook up the BBV solenoid.
just get a full l32 top lim heads s/c map rail and injectors harmonic balancer and ideler pully reason i say l32 s/c is because it is more efficient and easier to put ur tb on to
