I recently installed a catless downpipe from zzp. After installing it my valves started rattling. I've tried different brands of gas but it doesn't help. Can someone tell me what's up?

You sure its the valves? That seem like an odd result to the installation of a down pipe.

I would agree it's a big coincidence that a rattle occurs just after exhaust work (and if it's valves making the noise you have a failure as they have no moving parts, they are the part that moves inside the head)

It is possible that by replacing your original, double walled DP with a single wall, you just hear your "normal" valvetrain noise more.

I didn't replace the rear manifold gasket. I will though. Hopefully that will take care of it.

yeah you should replace the gasket between the manifold and the downpipe... some exhaust sealant wouldnt be a bad idea either there.

I finally got around to that gasket swap. It took care of the noise. Thanks for the help!
