This small vacuum line tees off from the large fitting on the brake booster line coming out of the upper intake manifold. The line runs along the firewall over to the passenger side strut and down the fender well to somewhere behind the battery and the harnesses there.

The line is broken and I cannot identify where it is supposed to go. Does anyone have a diagram or an idea what this line is for?

The line runs toward the front of the car. I can't see where it was headed. It just dead ends like it broke off from something. About the last 6 inches is a separate line connected to this long plastic vaccuum line with a rubber connector. That last six inches of line beyond that connection is broken on the terminal end and is all plugged up with something as well.

Pictures added 4/14/2010. Any ideas on this vacuum line? Where should it go. Is is supposed to go anywhere. Does it only connect to something when certain options are present?

Does anyone know where I can find a complete vacuum line schematic for 3.8 standard engine (not supercharged)? I would really like to see pictures or a diagram that was more specific to the routing of this particular vacuum line. My A/C is cold, but doesn't blow very hard out of the vents on both ends of the dash. Nothing seems to redirect at all when I change the settings with the switch. I suspect this line really does goe to the HVAC controls, but I cannot find the trail under the hood beyond where the line currently ends.

It goes into the wiring harness that runs into the passenger floorboard under the carpet.

That line runs to the vacuum canister under the front drivers fender. From there a line would feed into the cabin.

You can repair it with regular rubber tubing if needed.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

After I went to the local Pontiac parts department I was able to get a part number for the vacuum hose in question. I finally decided to tear into the harness that enters the firewall on the passenger side just below where this line is heading. I did find the other end of the hose bundled inside the wiring harness. The only question in my mind that remains is "why is this half of the hose all plugged up"? Is it by design for some reason or did the stuff in the lower section of hose build up over time? I will attempt, as recommended to replace with stock Dorman vacuum tubing and soft connectors from the local parts store.

Upon entering the part number in a Google search, I came upon this web site that also provides the diagrams for the whole AC system. This is the same diagram that they had at the Pontiac dealer. Get Part Detail Here

The hose is number 5 on the list here. The GM part number is 15324147 or **324147.

Thank you all for your input and help!
