looks to be the MAP sensor plug and bracket.

Would it run without that? Have had the car over a year without it.

take the picture location (http://xxxxxxxxxx..../yourpicture.jpg) and put it in between [img] and [/img] tags.

Why would it not be there? Previous owner bypass for something. Is it for sure the MAP sensor?

It is most definitely not the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor is in the UIM on the L36. I'm trying to remember what might be there.

Found this online. Called a secondary air injection solenoid? Not sure what it does and why I don't have one though!

That explains why I couldn't think of anything, either. The secondary air injection system is part of the California Emissions package. If you don't have that package, you won't have anything there.

I have the same empty plug and bracket as you. I have an 01 GT. I just assumed it had to do with something for California or a block heater. I never worried about it.

nuthin goes there, they used same harness for yrs thats for the old evap solinoid now extended its in the front for the newer 3.8, so it not used they did that thinkin thats what caught fire if it had a leak cuz of the heat between fire wall and rear maniflod then they moved it in the front (less heat) but needless to say that wasnt tha problem
