Hey guys. I'm eventually going to turbo my 2001 GT, but I'm doing all the basic GT mods first, since almost all of them are compatible with a turbo setup. If I install a ZZP turbo cam into my N/A engine (before it's turbo), will it increase my performance, or could it possibly do harm? I'm trying to do all this in pieces because it's so damn expensive. Thank you!

I would turbo first, then buy a cam after the tranny goes.

Hmmm ok. How soon did you end replacing your tranny after you installed the turbo?

I lied, base kits don't really destroy trannies unless you beat on it or if your transmission was on its last leg anyway. Either way, you may find yourself happy with the power that a base turbo kit puts out. If you are going cam+turbo, at that level you are going to need a fully built tranny.

Ok. Sounds good. Did you do any valvtrain upgrades when you installed your turbo?

No, the base turbo kits available from vendors will run from 6-12psi depending if your intercooled, but are safe on stock engines. When you start raising the boost, then you need to tune and go with a cam. Depending on the rest of the setup, people have run mid 11's on stock motors.
