hey i was wondering what is a good cam for a l36? also would i need to change springs and rockers for the cam swap? and also i have heard of people dropping the passenger side of the motor and going through the passenger side wheel well to swap the cam, is that logical? thanks for all the help.

no one has really asked a lot about l36 cams, so dont be pushed off by others.

now, is it worth it to cam an l36? maybe depending upon your goals.

heads cam L36 with a high stall/gear should be good for 13's on street tires with a good tune.

    I say GT2 cam...with headwork, HV3, FWI, PLOG, 3" Downpipe...custom tune, L67 TB, L67 injectors...

okay thanks, i was looking at that one. i know there is alot of stuff on here about rockers, and i know its alot easier to do. is a cam worth the difference than rockers?

i have both the a 98 gp gt and a 98gp gtp they r both black and i love them both. I did just about all mods you can do to the gt except a cam.I have the er ratio rockers which some think are the best for the gt.Also have the hv3, 3" downpipe, hv throttlebody, custom tuned many times, even bought the hp tuner suite ect.ect.ect. i got the gt first and dumped a ton of loot into it.Then i stumbled upon the gtp for an awsome price and when i drove it, it was damn near as fast if not faster than my gt and it was bone stock. I never lined them up to see which was faster but the gtp definitly seems faster. my point here is if your gonna buy all those bolt ons and other mods save your money and buy a new or find a used top swap kit in the end you will be very happy or u will wished u didnt waste the money bc you will be removing most of those mods when u do buy the top swap..i say that bc its very addictive once you start modding you will probably never stop lol......as i am currently dumping tons of loot into my gtp..lol

but i will say all the mods i did i saw a big diff from stock....
    Just my .02

    ^^X-actly.

because in the long run...you'll eventually want more power. Do the cam now...and if you are still wanting more out of the valvetrain...then do offset rockers or 1.7's.

I went with a GT2 last spring. I paired that with some PnP heads that had been milled .034". Really liked that setup.

no harm done, but it wouldnt run as well as a cam that was designed for an n/a application. now, if you plan on top swapping later then it might be worth the effort.

would gains be had by putting a S/C cam in a NA car? I know turbo cams are very similar to NA and cant see why a big lopey cam wouldnt let it breathe
