I am familiar with the s/c scene but not the n/a. I just picked up a 98 regal and plan on doing the hv3 and a set of rockers. I understand stock is 1.6 correct? Is that on both s/c and n/a? Now with the ER rockers what ratio are they? Are they a split ratio? I am not very clear on those or what would be good for the n/a world. Assuming you cant just put on some modded 1.9's on n/a can you? Not clear on why zzp sells modded rockers and ER's. Any help is appreciated.

Apparently it runs better with different ratios on the intake and exhaust.

    I vote cam though.

yes both s/c and na have the 1.6 ratio. now the reason why zzp has split ratio rockers because 1.9 can actually hurt hp numbers on a n/a car. theres two ways to get more flow...1. increase the pressure of the air going into the engine or opening up the intake path. rockers would be like opening up the intake path more. Now a certain rocker ratio is optimal for n/a cars that happens to be 1.84 and 1.8 because the 1.9 opens more is also slows the air down because your loosing pressure and this equals less hp. And yes you can put 1.9s on a n/a. the
99 Grand Prix old build- CAI, Custom exhaust, HV3, Stage 2 TB, custom tune, ported heads intense s1x cam, headers.
Nothing great Just a small T66 Turbo with a Hv3 On a stock tranny untill i finish the other one.

Well how do you know what is what? 1.84 vs 1.8? When they come from zzp or from a member who is selling them. What goes where?

Get the 1.9 ratio ER Rockers...and the HV3...keep in mind you'll benefit mostly from those with a tune and exhaust work...headers are overkill on a N/A car unless your spraying or have some stupid Heads/Cam setup...so go with a 3" Downpipe and a PLOG.

Isnt a 3inch over kill for N/A unless its cammed? I was putting together an idea of getting an aztek transmission with the 3.69's and having the ER rocker/hv3 setup. Possibly a small shot too.

The catback will still be 2.5" so what difference does it make? It costs how much more and you get the least resistance possible.

^^Agreed 110%. Plus, with all that top end flow...a 3" WON'T be overkill...in fact it would probably suit him WAY better, especially if he is going cam or rockers with a HV3.

1.9's on a N/A car are fine...I think he meant to say rollers vs. ER rockers...since rollers aren't the best for a N/A from what I understand...and if he didn't mean that...who cares...hes just a drunk with a ricer

So the zzp ER rockers are 1.84 on the intake and 1.8 on the exhaust? Meaning I dont need 90 or 105's for springs unless I run the 1.9's at 6k or more correct? I plan on running the ER's up too 6k.

IMO...I'd get springs anyways...the LS6 or #90's (same thing) will be fine. I'd rather have them for extra insurance...plus since they are cheap...better safe than sorry I'd say.

1.9s still make good power on an l36/l26 setup. if given a choice i would never choose the ER rockers over something with more lift, even if it "hurt power". with a little tuning the higher ratio will edge out the lower ratio on the top end where it matters.
