    Hey guys,

My fiance's engine in her 08 Grand Prix with 45,000 miles makes a clatter/ pinging decently loud noise under decent to heavy acceleration when it's in 2nd gear. Almost sounds like metal on metal. Oil is fine, changed often, we use good gas, what else could this be? It only does it under heavy load, if I rev it while in park, no noise, or with normal driving, no noise. Thoughts? It's a 3800 N/A.

    Thanks!
    Chad

My thoughts is that you shouldn't be posting here, but rather be taking it back to the dealership for warranty.

Would be the smart thing to do.

This car was purchased used with 21,000 miles and is a 2008, does it have the 60/ 100,000 mile warranty?

No recent GM should have a warranty of less than 2 years and less than 30K miles... phoning the dealer takes less time than searching this forum. Check the owners manual at the back as well.

Thanks everyone, you are correct, talked to the dealer, powertrain is covered till 100K, have had the car for almost a year and never new it, lol. Dealer is looking at the problem, noise is varified, they just don't know what the hell it is.
