So I was just given an 03 Grand prix GT. Having some issues. Very poor gas mileage, won't go bast 4100 RPM, no power, no acceleration, and making a noise that seems like exhaust near the rear of the motor. Think it might be the cat but not sure. Any ideas?

Please do not triple post. It is most likely a clogged cat.

Yeah, sorry, new to the site. That's what I thought so I took it to GM because it should be under the Emissions warranty but they said it wasn't the cat. Not sure if I believe them though.

Take the 02 sensor out of the exhaust manifold and go for a short drive and see if it is any better.

or check your plugs/wires...if they are bad it could cause this as well

mine started running like sh!t when the MAF and front O2 sensor went bad. gas milage was down too. is it giving any codes?

I got a p0304 and a p0300. I changed the plugs and wires.
