First it overheated, would go into the red, then back down about halfway, and up again, on highway and city(dummy me i didnt pull over), it shut off about a mile from my destination, started back up and finished trip. I replaced the thermostat and coolant, drove it round the block and still got hot. Then i took out the thermo and it runs around 120degrees, but it runs real rough, i was thinkin i might have blown one head gasket, i get little plums of smoke from under the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine, also very white exhaust, and smell of coolant. When i first got the car coolant would come out of the pressure sensor and u could smell it. Im thinkin i prolly need to replace my uim, and lim. I would greatly appreaciate any suggestions, im not currently drivin it i parked it, o and my brakes decided to take a dive, i have no pedal pressure, and when its to the floor its like if i were to barely press on the pedal of a normal car. UGH!!

Unfortunately this sounds like an Intake Gasket failure. This is a common problem with any GM V6 engines from 1995 to 2006. If you can smell the coolant I'm guessing its in the advanced stages and would cost a hefty amount to repair (around $1000). Depending on the trade-in value of your car you may want to weigh the pros and cons of either repairing the damage or just buying a new car. Good luck.
