Hey going home this weekend and finally going to be able to put my HV2 on the car.. anyone know how to install it? I got a used HV2 that's already all sealed up to the manifold. I've got the longer bolts, any tips on taking off the old manifold and putting the new one on? is that all I do? thanks if anyone know.

Un do bolts...remove manifold...install HVII...reverse steps. It is really that simple.

Well, I just put a HV3 in my 08. A HV3 is probably 98% the same as a series2, maybe. I can watch this post if you run into problems. Although it is pretty easy, I didn’t have any big issues. It is pretty straight forward what needs to be removed. But that aside, here are some tips.

    1) I had a couple hick ups trying to figure out how to uncouple some of the electrical connections. I would explore that ahead of time, if you get the chance. I had to undo like 20 connections.

    2) Mark the spark plugs wires/cylinder assignment for your back cylinders, because they will need to be moved around.

    3) On my car one wire harness went under the fuel rail; ensure that gets back in the right place.

    4) You will need to drain a little bit of coolant, I’d say about 2 quarts would do it.

    5) Install new O-rings on your injectors. Also, clean up around the injectors before you pull them.

    6) Double checked your throttle body for hold down bolts, I missed one initially.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!
