Greetings all,

Awhile back, the wife's 97 GT (65K miles) started with an intermittent problem where it would not start. You turned the key and nothing happened.
A post in this forum suggested the ignition switch but at the same time, her battery was going south.

We changed the battery and the problem went away for several months but just happened again last week. I did find a good clue, though.

When you turn the key to the on position, there are no dash lights or anything that come on, even before you hit the start position. Usually, if you turn the key off and then back on, it fires right up. It's a very intermittent problem that happens once in every 20-30 start attempts.

I'm really suspisious of the ignition switch but need to know if there are any relays, etc. in the mix that might cause the same symptoms and whether or not the car could strand her in traffic once it is running. She's really gun shy about it now.

Thanks in advance. Airhead
