I have a 99 grand prix gt coupe, I just recently moved to denver from kansas and now my car has issues with idle. If it's not warmed up or if at a stop light, the idle can't stay somewhat constant, and will shudder, it will occasionally just about die, but hasn't died yet (knock on wood) but then also the other night i all of a sudden, the gauges and dummy lights all came on and the radio would reset, but hasn't done it since. I lived in denver last year and never had these issues and knowing that there is a performance hit being out here because of the lack of oxygen. And then last night the check engine light finally came on. Any ideas?

Also I have found this thread and it kinda sounds like my issues

Get the check engine light scanned and let us know what the code is. Also you can unplug the MAF and see if it runs better with it unplugged. If it does then replace the MAF. You could also try and clean it first to see if that helps. Did you check the IAC already? A code is what we really need. take it to autozone or something and get us the actual code number.

MAF would make sense especially since you're farther above sea level now, thus there is a problem with measuring the thinner air going into the engine, which would point right to the MAF.

Got it checked out. The code was a firing issue and a MAF. Ended up the person who changed the spark plugs last (before I owned it) didn't tighten the plugs correctly and the spark was grounding out causing the plug to melt and the car to short out. Also the MAF was dirty so it was cleaned and fixed. Car is running amazingly better! Thanks for you help!
