hello. i am N/A and plan and staying N/A forever. i just dont need my 4 door family car doing 13-14 seconds in the quarter mile. i still like going quick though. with that in mind, would i actually benefit from a 180 degree thermostat? will that actually do anything for me performance wise? or do people get those for purposes other then performance?? (engine longevity??)
also, what about plugs? are their plugs that will actually make my N/A motor perform better, or will the bottom of the line autolites from wal mart suffice?? and finally, wires. would thicker wires do anything extra for me that stock rated ones wont?

no..........if you are staying stock or maybe only going to go with a few bolt on mods these things will not help except maybe getting platinum plugs..... The thermostat does not do anything without tuning and is mainly a gain for the supercharged cars by lowering the incoming temps on the supercharger air so this would do nothing for you at all. I personally would put in a pair of good platinum plugs and run with them. Thicker plug wires are really for performance gains, and would not offer you anything much over the stock ones with your mods.

ok, so would it hurt anything by having a 180 degree thermostat? would it running colder not be good for it somehow? the reason i ask is cuz my pcm came programmed for a 180 thermostat, so i bought one and put it in, and now, after the fact, i just started thinking about that.....

it shouldnt hurt anything if your pcm is programmed for it.......you just wouldnt get the gains that you would on a SC'ed motor....

Put one in. There not for supercharged cars only. A cooler motor runs better. And there are no "gains" from a T-Stat to be honest...it just lowers temps.

So, put in the 180* T-Stat and get Autolite 606 or 605 Spark plugs.

I didnt know that he had the pcm tuned for the 180 in my first post. It doesnt do anything from the standpoint of if you do not have a tuned pcm to adjust for the fan turn on points....you will have no HP gains, but if it is tuned for this thermostat then that is what you should be running. Why get copper plugs for an NA motor? yes, they are cheaper, but you just have to change them out way more often. I didnt think that the copper plugs did anything performance wise for an NA motor????

    Are you on drugs?

First thing is I couldn't understand half of what you said there...3rd grade might be something nice to google and find out what you missed there.

Second...there is no way in HELL these cars are going to gain 5 WHEEL HORSEPOWER from spark plugs unless they are all 99.9% bad. And get Autolite's like I said...605's or 606's.
