BTW I would limit it to 65, if she needs to do any highway driving she'll be ****ed when it cuts out at 55.

I drove all last winter in a 4x4 exploder. I kinda miss driving it, somedays you just want a beater to jump curbs with and not care.

moving the speed limiter to 55?!? that could be dangerous too for your daughter. What if a Mack dump truck is flying up with no breaks doing 70 and your daughter can only do 55 max, trying to speed up and get out of the way and she can't do any evasive maneuvers...

X2...I completley understand you wanting to keep your daughter safe, but a 55mph limiter is just dangerous.
Plus, unfortunatley teens don't learn their lesson from speed limiters, her 1st ticket will be her speed limiter

Your average car cannot go from 55 to 80mph in a split second and your average driver will survive a rear impact.

I would limit it to 65, if she needs to do any highway driving she'll be ****ed when it cuts out at 55.
She's getting her school permit and sounds like there are no highways on the way to school, same when i was a kid... lol

instead of spending 500 $ you could just get a plugged up fuel filter. that would limit the car from doing anything productive. get it to the point where it would barley drive. Or just spend a lot of time behind the wheel with her. The second is what id do. Once i got my license i think i drove more then dad. I understand that she is a girl but the same rules still apply more practice = more gooder. course you could always make her a good driver and still pug up the fuel filter. just a thought

The best solution sounds like education and trust. If you're really a paranoid parent, a performance driving school. My Skip Barber experience at the Joliet Autobahn was worth it. They should have that or a similar school in the northeast.

^^I realize a stock L36 is not as fast as the sticker implies, but this sticker has worked and it is still a hell of a lot of fun to drive considering it's a grocery sedan.

it says there's a $175.00 refund after you send in your core. I am ok with possiblly losing $100.00, but definately not $175!

You pay $175. The PCM is $75. You get $100 back when you send in your core.

No, the cart reflects $275.00. The part is 100.00, you get the $175.00 after you return your core.
