I hooked up a code reader to the car and Code P0446 (Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction) appeared. Where is this located? and how would I go about fixing it? And should the gas tank be making a air hissing noise when the car is running? No gas is leaking.

my guess would be there is a hole in the tank but its up high to the point where if the tank isnt filled completely it wont leak on the ground.. and the hissing is prob the system trying to make a vacuume in the tank, but cant because of the hole. have you tried filling the car up completely, like topping it off.

it could be a plugged line in the circuit like the one trying to allow air into the gas tank. If it is obstructed mostly that could create the sound as well........just a thought.

Cool, I solved the problem. The Charcoal Canister? was filled with dust from my dirt road. Now, the check engine light is off and the remote starter works.
It only took me a couple of hours researching on the internet to try to find out where the canister was located and find out what the problem was.
Wow, I'm an accidental mechanic. Only if I had the money to go to Votech school and learn about auto mechanics.
