Great info on LIM on the 3.8!
While in there I decided to do a compression check and found #6 at 90 PSI when the others were around 190. Did a leak down test and air was pouring out the exhaust. Pulled the head and crack goes between intake and exhaust on #6. Is this from too much heat? Go hot once with the coolant leak from the LIM. Anyone have head bolt torque sequence and do both long and short get 37# on the first pass and 120 degrees on the second?
Motor had 140K on it and I pulled it out as I am going to replace the pan gasket, water pump, timing chain and dampner etc. I don't want any issues for a while!! Any advice?
Motor is on a stand in my garage.(Proably should have bought a long block by now with these gasket prices!!

you know that those cracks are SUPER common on our cars, right? the car still runs with it. finding a set of heads without those cracks is going to be an endeavor. have fun.

its not the crack that is leaking, trust me.

Head bolt torque depends on which bolts you are using.

An ARP head stud kit is all torqued equally. Fel Pro replacement head bolts are different between the older and newer heads.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
