    04 gp gt

to start things off, yes i have read many threads of mods and things of that sort, and thoroughly through the "safely modding your 3800" (thanks a ton bluegtp91) and as i would absolutely love to do a top swap or just a total L67 or L32 motor swap is that sh*t aint gunna happen due to lack of funds... i got bout 1000 dollars to work with, and basically want more hp and low end...

the only mod i have at this time is the fwi

my question or just wonderment spikes what might be the best bang for my buck... from what ive read is that the
HV3 High velocity intake insert is a definate route i should pursue...
and that a dp is another good mod, but my ? for that 1 is that there is so many choices for a dp, but whats the BEST option?

    ZZ Performance

another ? i have is about porting your tb, and where ne good places are that i could get that done (Cincinnati, Oh or surrounding states)... and what exactly they do when they port it...

any comments or opinions are extremely appreciated!

There's people on here that port throttle bodies. Try reptile or minichopper6hp. Can't remember if TDC does it or not. And if you have a thousand dollars to work with you can do a topswap or engine swap with that and still have some left over for a downpipe. ZZP for the downpipe, if you're gunna stay N/A get a 2.5 if you're gunna supercharge at some point get a 3.

how fast do you want to go? with $1000 you can break into the 13s with your car, but you wont be N/A anymore.

Topswap is better though, higher compression.

    $1000 budget....hmmm....

Forget top swap, go turbo. Okay...NM.

Top swap, trans tweaks, alky kit, exhaust, tune. Enjoy.

what im looking for is torque so top swap was def on my mind, but from what ive read... you have to get new heads, new front header and dp, new trans, new oil, better air induction, not to mention tune, reprog pcm(which i heard is almost impossible for 04?), and im sure much more and that my friends does not sound like a grand or less... i hoping some1 can please prove me wrong

You can usually find the parts for cheap either around you or someone on here could help you, including me. I can get you stock parts for cheap but shipping is always the deal breaker, just depends on if you can find parts locally or not. For $1000 your not gonna be able to do a gen 5 s/c on your 04 but you could always bolt on a gen3 and have an adapter made for your throttle body, i could make that or im sure others on here can offer one, it would be custom. As far as tune goes, 04 can be tuned easily, i believe its the 06+ that cannot.

Good points, although I wouldn't neccessarily agree with the GenV statement - they can be bought for $225-$250 all day long, if you look.

You need the top end...IIRC the '04+ transmissions are stronger so don't worry. You don't have to have headers they just help...get a 3" DP with a u-bend delete if you top swap...if you shop around I bet you can get it done with the DP for about a grand...or save a bit more money and get some more stuff

A guy in our local group just got one for $200 - and I know others that have picked them up for less than $250 - I'm just saying that they are out there - you have to be able to find them - clearly people are.

There is NOTHING to port on a 04+ TB. Nothing. So if you were still looking inot it don't. Becuase it would be a total waste of money. But yes we do port the 03- models.
